Timelapse of the Week – “Mirror City”

23 Jul

It’s not often that you see a fresh take on traditional timelapse techniques, but this week you will. Michael Shainblum has used multiple mirrors on his footage to create a trippy look at some of America’s biggest cities.

It starts to lose sense of being a timelapse video, and instead becomes a real visual feast for your eyes. It’s like looking at the world through a kaleidoscope.

It’s one of my favorite videos that I’ve seen in months, and it shows that there is still plenty of space for real creativity to shine. If you want to see more of his work, check out his website at shainblumphoto.com/

I agree with you that Michael is taking the artform to another level. I did a similar piece earlier this year: http://www.buildabetterphotograph.com/experimental-videos/time-lapse-kaleideoscope/

    Great blog BTW….
